Feb 7, 2012 - As far as the physical demands to produce electricity on a power grid, is it cheaper to produce it at 50 Hz or 60 Hz? I remember hearing a science teacher talking about being in a power plant many years ago and when power demands were great, they would drop the Hz a bit and later increase the Hz so that the electric powered clocks of the time, could catch up.
